Yesterday we welcomed students and teachers from Belgium, Sweden, Spain and Finland – Student had the opportunity to spend the afternoon and evening with our students and their families. While staff meet together and discussed the programme for the next few days – Sharing ideas and views on the different Educational Systems and Addictions within each country.
Today the 1st full day of the programme began with breakfast together hotel and a nice walk up the hill to our school.
On arrival to school, the students and staff wee greeted by our TY Comenius students, Mary Daly our Principal and Sister Liz our Deputy Principal officially welcomed all to our school –
The TY students then facilitated ice-breaking / team building activities and a gave a guided tour of the school, Rebecca our extracurricular activities coordinator facilitated dance / sport activities in the PE Hall, then we ere all ready for lunch
Following this staff and students watched all the newscast re addictions and young people from the from the different countries and then continued working (in mixed groups) with questions about addictions in preparation for visits to local addiction centres tomorrow.
Tonight we will have a Typical Irish Stew – prepared by the Home Ec Department, and Ty students. We will also have the opportunity to taste typical foods from the other countries and each country will provide entertainment as part of our Cultural evening here in St. Dominic’s
