Continuous Professional Development for staff is central to our schools, DEIS Plan, School Self Evaluation Process and our School Improvement Plan. This week our Staff Planning Meeting (Croke Park hours) was facilitated by Ms Sweeney and Ms Green who outlined our Numeracy Plan, and encouraged staff to reflect on how they can implement numeracy in all their subjects, so that we can have a Whole School approach to improving Numeracy within our school.
Staff also had the opportunity to discuss how they can incorporate Interculturalism in their subject areas as part of our whole school Diversity Plan.
At our previous Staff Planning Meeting Ms Mills and Ms Keeler both facilitated a workshop on ” Student Mental Health Whose Business Is It Any Way?” – Again staff were giving the opportunity to reflect on how we can promote a Healthy Mental Health Policy as a whole school community.
Staff also attended DES in-service for Project Maths, the New Junior Certificate English Course, DEIS Planning and mental Health Awareness.
Sr. Liz and Mrs Daly have attended in-services on Time Management, Mindfulness in Education, Goal Setting and Educational Leadership
