The 2016/2017 school year was an exciting, enjoyable and transformative year for our Rugby Team. We competed for the first time in the Junior School Leinster League and the team is growing ever since! the 2017/18 is looking to be a very successful rugby season!
Rugby is a sport which fosters courage, fitness, team effort and togetherness, bringing girls from all backgrounds. Our students have not only learned rugby skills but they have also learned to work as a team and follow rules while respecting one another.
The students were commended by Leinster Rugby Development Officers throughout the province for their behaviour and attitude both on and off the field, and of course their rugby skills also. The IRFU invited our team to participate in the All-Ireland National 7’s competition in April 2016 in which our girls successfully represented Dublin and competed against students from all over the country.
The team trains every Wednesday under the guidance of our qualified coach Ms.Daly after school and look forward to the season of ahead. Some of our players are now playing club rugby with M.U. Barnhall R.F.C. New players are always welcome! C’mon join our school and give rugby a TRY!
