We are delighted to announce that Mary Daly our school Principal   has been nominated by the Department of Education as one of two Irish Representatives to the “Experts for Raising Achievement project in Europe”.

Mary has been chosen, because of the positive  record that we as school have in “Raising Achievement of our students” – Today many students take JC and LC at Higher Level, and begin to plan for College Life from 1st year.   97% – 100%  of our students continue in 3rd Level and Further Education following completion of their Leaving Certificate. What once was a “dream” for  a few has now become the norm for our students, due to the commitment of Staff, Parents / Guardians and Students under guiding leadership of Mary Daly since 2000.

During the midterm break, Mary was invited to a Breakfast Meeting with Ruairí Quinn T.D.Minister for Education and Skills. Mary was joined by Emer Woods a parent for our BOM  and two other Primary School Principals from Dublin and Limerick. During their two hour meeting Minister Quinn was interested to hear how we as a DEIS school, had managed to increase our Retention to Leaving Certificate, (97%), Our Attainment (high percentage of students taken Higher Level Papers in all subjects) and about our High Progression to 3rd Level Education and further Education.
