It is with great pride, happiness and also a tinge of sadness that I write in your Year Book to celebrate your wonderful time here with us in St Dominic’s over the past 6 years.

As I reflect back to 2009, when you joined us as young innocent little 1st years, you have certainly experienced a time of great change in our school and country.

Since then, you have experienced many changes and improvements in our school. I believe that we all become more reflective in our teaching and learning, setting our weekly goals and exam targets and we have certainly embraced the world of technology in our classrooms.

Your yearbook certainly reflects and captures your many

memories. Trips to Glendalough and Bettystown and all your celebrations are without doubt the school days that you remember. Would you believe that I still have vivid memories of my Geography trip to the Giant’s Causeway in 1970!!

TY was a certainly a year to remember!!!! Your participation in the Gaisce and John Paul 11 Award Concern Debating and let us remember Simone’s great success in reaching the ‘Fine Dine At Mine Cookery Competition in St Angela’s College,

Sligo. Magic of the Musicals certainly brought you together as a year group when you performed to packed audiences in our School Hall and you discovered innate talents that you never knew existed within you!!! Many success stories came your

Thanks to Clare Lawlor and Claire Cahill for their commitment in securing our 1st Green Flag, don’t forget to return in September to assist us in raising the flag!!!!

Míle buíochas to Leanne Cuff our Head Girl, Nicole Glennon our Deputy Head,

Clare Lawlor, Head Mentor, Yewande Saheed Head Prefect, Clare Cahill Clubs and Societies Prefect and Taylor Burke Academic Prefect and all the prefects. You all have certainly made all our lives easier by supporting and encouraging our students.

Many thanks to Sr Liz your Year Head who has continually encouraged you to believe in yourselves and to search for excellence in your lives during the six years. It is hard to believe that she started as Deputy Principal as you joined us in St Dominic’s Tempus fugit!!!

Your tutors Ms Tarpey, Ms Green, Ms Mullen and SNAs Linda and Lisa have always shown total commitment to ensure that the challenges of school life were addressed with a proactive and positive approach by encouraging you to believe and achieve.

Many thanks to the staff who have also have great hopes for you and encouraged and supported you.

To your parents and guardians, you should be very proud of these young girls, they are a credit to you and your families and I have no doubt that they will have great success in their lives.

As you leave St Dominic’s, may you have great success in your life, accomplish anything you choose and always remember that there is greatness within you and always pursue happiness.
