St Dominic’s Students have been chosen to participate in a 2 Month Erasmus Plus exchange in Spain
On 3rd April, two Transition year students from St Dominic’s will embark on an amazing 8-week exchange to Asturias in Northern Spain. The two students have successfully made it through the selection process to live and go to school IES Selgas in Asturias. All of this was made possible thanks to Erasmus Plus funding which allows St Dominic’s to work with European partners and give students the opportunity to experience other cultures and have different educational experiences.
The two students Shannon O’Connor and Alexandra Medzihradska will live with students from the Spanish school and attend their local school. The students will be fully immersed in the Spanish language as all of their lessons and extra-curricular activities will IMG_20160307_155808be in Spanish. They will have a unique opportunity to fully experience the culture in the northern Spain by living with a Spanish family and experience teenage life with their host student. When chosen Shannon stated ‘I am very proud of myself for achieving this one in a lifetime opportunity’ and Alexandra stated ‘I am grateful for being selected to represent my school in Spain.
Tracy Brennan Coordinator of the Programme stated ‘We at St Dominic’s wish them all the best on this journey and look forward to hearing their stories when they return in June’
